I was lucky enough to get to see the Book Club film last Saturday afternoon at my local Odeon. This film starts with four vastly different female characters from very different backgrounds who make up a book club. One of them, a very outgoing character decides the book club should read “50 Shades of Grey” and openly discuss the raunchy novel. The women involved then start to question their own relationships and sex lives. There was a good looking actor, Andy Garcia, in the film who played an airline pilot and my two favourite scenes were when he and Diane (played by Diane Keaton) were rumbled by her two daughters playing together in his swimming pool, and Carol (played by Mary Steenburgen) and her husband Bruce (played by Craig T Nelson) dancing together at the charity fund raiser. (Mary Steenburgen was showing off her dancing skills I saw her do in in my teenage years in “Back to the Future part 3”). I would give this particular film 7 1/2 out of 10 rating. This film really lifts your spirits in a very positive way.
