I have felt for the past seven days or so the need to say something publicly but not knowing how to. I think it is unwise for the Gov’t to enforce the Covid 19 vaccination onto carers in social care homes and the community. This is because the vaccine should be an option but not compulsory. Carers need to be motivated and be able to weigh up the facts to make their own decision on the vaccine. I couldn’t blame carers for wanting to leave the profession if it felt the choice was not their own to make. The adult social care system would fall apart if it were not for the dedication of those in the profession. In my opinion carers are under paid for the valuable work they undertake. I hope everyone has their say on this Gov’t consultation. See link.
